Itβs not enough to just show up in a search - you have to look good doing it, and you have to keep showing up next year too!
Site Savvy has been doing Yakima website design since 2015.
We've built and now actively manage more than 80 websites for businesses, manufacturers, gyms, nonprofits, and consulting firms across Central Washington - and we're still hands-on with every single one. Your website shouldn't be something you set up once and forget about for five years. It should grow the way your business grows. That's exactly how we build them.
While we're proud to be Yakima's hometown web team, our work has also reached organizations as far as California and Maryland - proof that the same care we bring to a Yakima website design project holds up anywhere.
Why Your Website Needs More
Than a Pretty Face
A good-looking website that doesn't rank, doesn't convert, and can't be updated by anyone but the developer who built it isn't actually doing its job.
Every Yakima website design project we take on should bring you:
- New customers found through search results, not just luck
- Increased conversions turning visitors into calls and leads
- Two-way communication forms, chat, and tools that let customers reach you
- A better user experience so people stick around instead of bouncing
That only happens with a site built strategically from day one, not assembled from a template and left alone.
The Site Savvy Difference
We started Site Savvy in 2015 - two PNW locals who grew up around Yakima and around entrepreneurs (literally; both our parents ran their own businesses).
We know what it's like to pour everything into a business and need website design that actually works, not just looks nice on a screen.
Over the past decade we've evolved right alongside the internet itself: -
- from clean functional UX/UI design,
- to content-driven SEO,
- to where we are now; fine-tuning sites for how people search using AI tools, not just Google's old blue links.
We build our process around two phases,
- on purpose
Phase 1 | Build the Foundation
We design and build a website with real strategy behind it: a sitemap, wireframes, a style guide, and a finished design built around your goals, not a cookie-cutter template.
Phase 2 | Drive Traffic
Once your site is solid, we focus on getting people to it - SEO, content, and marketing that all point back to the asset we just built together.
Most agencies pick one of these. We do both because that two-phase approach is what makes our Yakima website design process different from a typical build-and-bail agency.
A beautiful website nobody finds isn't worth much, and a marketing campaign pointed at a weak website isn't either.
Here's what that looks like in practice
- An easy-to-manage website. Every Yakima website design project we build uses WordPress with Beaver Builder, so your team can update text, images, and pages without learning to code or calling a developer every time. Some agencies keep their builds complicated on purpose, so you stay dependent on them. We do the opposite β we'll even train your staff to manage it themselves.
- A strategic, researched approach. We don't start building until we understand your goals - and sometimes that means helping you nail down your branding, logo, or service copy first, before a single page gets designed. Every project moves through the same stages: sitemap, wireframes, style guide, then final design.
- Fast, real support. We're not a ticket queue. During business hours, you can call, email, or hop on a video call and get a real answer - most issues get handled same-day.
- Consultation on automation. A lot of clients don't know what's possible until we show them. We've used tools like Zapier to automatically route website form submissions into a spreadsheet, so nobody's copying and pasting hundreds of entries by hand. We also connect signup forms directly to email platforms like Mailchimp or Constant Contact, so your subscriber list stays current automatically. We're also building out new AI-powered automation services - more on that soon.
- Accessibility built in, not bolted on. Every site we build can include ADA and Section 508 accessibility support, with ongoing monitoring - not a one-time checkbox that gets ignored after launch.
Most Yakima website design projects run 3β4 months from kickoff to launch, with regular check-in calls throughout so you're never wondering what's happening with your own website.
Our Yakima Website Design Process
Month 1 | Discovery & Strategy
We learn your goals, map out a sitemap, and collect your branding materials - logo, photos, written content. If you don't have these yet, we help you get there first.
Month 2 | Build
Your website design comes to life in WordPress: page layouts, forms, and any integrations you need, with feedback and revision rounds along the way.
Month 3 | Polish & Launch
SEO setup, accessibility implementation, staff training, testing, and launch day.
Month 4+ | Ongoing Management
This is where most web designers disappear. We don't. Hosting, security, accessibility monitoring, and support hours continue every month, with additional integrations scoped as your needs grow.
Website Design and Management, Together
A website is never really βdone,β and we don't treat it that way. Every site we manage goes through real, recurring work every single month; not just βwe'll fix it if it breaks.β
Here's what that actually looks like, every month, for every Yakima website design client we manage:
- Reliable Hosting and infrastructure. We host through Kinsta, with CDN, SSL, and daily backups so your site stays fast and protected.
- Content updates and support hours. We're here for your ongoing requests and updates to your site.
- Security and software updates. WordPress core, plugins, and themes stay current. We also keep a clean list of who has access to your site, so former employees or anyone suspicious gets cut off immediately.
- Broken links and redirects. As pages change or get removed, we check for 404 errors and fix redirects before they become a problem - not after a customer hits a dead end.
- SEO setup configured for how search works now. We use RankMath SEO to check how individual pages - including this Yakima website design page itself - are actually performing in Google search results, AI tools, and answer engines for their target keywords. We'll tell you honestly when a page could use a copy refresh to improve its ranking - not just set it once and walk away.
- Forms and integrations, tested. Every form is checked to make sure submissions actually go through, notifications reach the right inbox, and spam protection is working.
- Accessibility monitoring. We use the Equalize Digital plugin to keep your site ADA and Section 508 compliant on an ongoing basis - not just on launch day, when most agencies stop checking.
- Analytics and reporting. We connect Google Analytics and Search Console properly from day one so you know what's working and can adjust marketing budgets based on the data.
- Site speed and mobile performance. We regularly check load times and mobile responsiveness, because a slow site loses visitors before they ever see what you offer.
- An annual strategy check-in. Once a year, we sit down (if you're local -
coffee's on us) to look at your site with fresh eyes: is it still reaching the right audience, does it need new content or photos, is it time to talk about a redesign?
This is the same standard of care whether you've been with us for six months or, like a few of our clients, for over ten years.
If you ever want to leave, you own everything - your domain, your content, your code.
We've seen what happens when a developer holds a client's domain "for convenience" and then disappears. We have built our entire approach to avoid ever putting a client in that position.
Real Yakima Businesses, Real Results
We could tell you we're good at Yakima website design. Or you could see what we've actually built...
Sundown M Ranch |
Addiction Treatment Center
Sundown M Ranch has served over 200,000 patients and families since 1968, but their website wasn't helping people in crisis find the right program fast enough.
This Yakima website design project meant rebuilding it around how people actually think when they're searching for treatment - separating programs by audience, surfacing accreditations and patient testimonials, and simplifying the path to admissions.
Garen Barnett, their Manager of Information Technology, put it simply: βI have never had a vendor that has taken as much time and detail for my organization.β
This is also one of our longest relationships - we've worked with Sundown since Site Savvy's earliest days.
Washington 211 |
Statewide Nonprofit Resource Network
WA 211 needed a full website redevelopment plus a custom resource-search web application - not a small ask. Thus, our sister company was born, Connect 211.
Tim Sullivan, their Director at the time, told us he was impressed by our genuine interest in building something that would βnot only promote our brand but provide a public service to the residents of Washington State.β
That's the kind of project where a website isn't marketing - it's infrastructure people depend on.
Manhasset Stands |
90 Year Old American Manufacturer
Manhasset Stands has built music stands in Yakima since 1935, shipping to musicians in 50 countries.
Their site needed to serve three very different audiences at once - individual musicians, schools buying in bulk, and a distributor network - without confusing any of them.
We led with their βMade in Yakima, Washingtonβ badge as a genuine selling point, not just trivia, and used their distributor portal that turned the site into a tool for their entire sales channel.
Baxter Consulting Group |
Professional Consulting Firm
This one says a lot about how we work long-term. We've partnered with the Baxter family for over a decade - first building a website for Baxter Construction, then Baxter Biohazard, and now Baxter Consulting Group as Brice Baxter shifted from hands-on construction work into strategic consulting.
When the new firm came to us, there was no website, no content, and zero SEO footprint - just decades of real expertise that had never been put online.
We built 8 pages from scratch using the same Yakima website design process we use for every client, including full consultant profiles for Brice, his son Tyler, and longtime colleague Heath Sandal, all mapped to what Yakima businesses actually search for when they need construction consulting or expert witness services.
That last one matters more than it might seem. We don't just build a website and disappear - we grow with our clients as their businesses change. Three evolutions of the Baxter brand, one ongoing relationship, over ten years.
Since 2015, our Yakima website design and management work has grown to more than 300 websites launched with 80+ that we're actively managing spanning healthcare, nonprofits, manufacturing, sports and fitness, and professional services throughout the Yakima Valley and beyond.
